Feathered Edge Star blocks are valued as a heirloom quilt according to an article written in 1934. With a little hocus-pocus and some fancy cutting the the Havel's Seam Ripper, this star block combines applique and reverse applique. Cleaver! So simple a "newbie" can accomplish, but it does require detailed cutting.
